Oh, and did we mention they're made with cricket protein? Yup, you read that right. Cricket protein is the de facto standard for sustainable, healthy protein. Crickets produce fewer emissions, use less land, and are far less likely to give you digestive trouble.
Our cricket protein is spray-dried and ground into a fine powder, ensuring that no taste or texture is present in the final bars. Meaning you can have a delicious, protein-packed granola bar without that gross chalky taste you've come to know with whey, casein, or pea proteins.
So, what do you say? Order a box now and prepare to have your life changed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Or "FAQs" for short
Are these really made with crickets?
Yes! All of our bars are currently made with cricket protein. Or, if you're into latin, Acheta protein.
Why would I want to eat a cricket?
Crickets are the protein of the future. They have a very low environmental footprint, are super easy to digest, and are very easy to grow. Also, unlike a lot of plant proteins they have all essential amino acids. Plus they don't leave you with that weird chalky aftertaste that you get from Whey or Pea protein!
We do! We ship anywhere in the US for one flat rate. And, if you're in the Southern Maine area, we'll ship for free!
Do you sell in stores anywhere?
We're working on it! We have a few retail locations in Maine and are always looking for more.
Are Crawl Bars gluten free?
Crawl Bars do not meet the FDA definition of gluten free, since they are processed in a factory with gluten and may contain trace amounts. However, no ingredient that we use is naturally gluten occurring.
Are Crawl Bars vegan?
Well, not quite. They use crickets as the primary protein source. However, we do have many vegan customers who consider crickets to be an ethically acceptable protein source.
Are crickets an allergen?
Crickets can be a similar allergen to shellfish. So, if you have a shellfish allergy, or are unsure, it's best to be safe and not eat crickets.
